  6.         Welcome to the A.M.I.G.O.S. library,  Like the fred fish disk's they
  7.     all have to be accessed from the workbench environment.
  8.     
  9.         They have a similar presentation to T.B.A.G. Although the early ones
  10.     are perhaps not quite as well polished, That aside, the content is
  11.     extremely good, Many have Utilities that I have never seen before such as
  12.     Vertical V2.0 which will scroll text to read it ( Think of the
  13.     applications that could be put to !)
  14.     
  15.         Anyway, Have a peruse of the listing and see if anything takes your
  16.         fancy.
  17.                     If you wish to order any of these disk's just ask for it
  18.             by title,  for example:

  26.     GAMES:-        SPACEWARS,- This is a nifty little game, with tiny sprites,
  27.                    a bit strange really!
  28.                    
  29.     GRAPHICS:-     IMAGE ED,- Besides being a paint program, this also allows
  30.                    you to load & edit icons, brushes, iff pics, Amiga basic C
  31.                    sprites & bobs, C images, sprites & bobs, Assembly
  32.                    language images, sprites & bobs, Modula 2 images, sprites
  33.                    & bobs, Fully workbench compatible icons, This is
  34.                    extremely user friendly, By Jonathon Potter.

  36.                    HAMmm2,- Interesting!
  37.                    
  38.                    MANDELBROT GENERATOR V1.1,- (68000 Only, or I think that's
  39.                    right !)
  40.                    
  41.     MUSIC:-        MAKESOUNDS,- Similar to P.Sound but slower, The advantage
  42.                    being that this can load raw data aswell as iff format.
  43.                    
  44.     UTILITIES:-    HEADCLEAN,- This moves the drive heads backwards and
  45.                    forwards after you insert a cleaner,
  46.                    
  47.                    NAdr V1.0,- This is another name and address program for
  48.                    the Amiga,
  49.                    
  50.                    TEXTRA,- A user friendly text editor,
  51.                    
  52.                    SID,- You all know this one!
  53.

  58.     GAMES:-        CHECKER'S,- Also known as draughts, With a choice of human
  59.                    oponent or computer.

  61.     GRAPHICS:-     JUGGETTE,- Nice little animation, ( once you have seen this
  62.                    you should see Juggler II, especialy if you have seen
  63.                    Juggler )
  64.                    
  65.                    BEZSURF,- This runs from the CLI ( not that certain about
  66.                    this one )
  67.                    
  68.     MUSIC:-        SUPER ECHO,- This will perform a variety of live special
  69.                    effects on samples including echos and pitch changes
  70.                    without altering the speed.
  71.                    
  72.     UTILITIES:-    FLASHCARD,- A learning promoter ( as the name implies )
  73.                    
  74.                    LHarcA V0.99a,- Compression utility,
  75.                    
  76.                    FASTDISK II,- A disk optimising utility ( needs ARP
  77.                    Library V34+ ! )

  83.     GAMES:-        DESTINATION:MOONBASE,- Quite difficult but very addictive!

  85.     MODEM:-        NCOMM,- A terminal program for the Amiga,
  86.     
  87.     GRAPHICS:-     ICON FUN,- More of a hack than anything else really,
  88.     
  89.                    PLASMA,- An extra halfbrite plasma cloud generator (?)
  90.                    
  91.                    XCOLOR V1.2,- Designed to change the colour of any screen,
  92.                    
  93.     UTILITIES:-    AMIGAFOX V1.0,- A text editor with the ability to handle
  94.                    graphics aswell,
  95.                    
  96.                    IRA,- This is an investments calculator,
  97.                    
  98.                    MULTIC,- This is a multicolumn text formatter,
  99.                    
  100.                    SELECTOR,- ( short for program selector ) this was written
  101.                    to help the user assemble programs on a boot disk and
  102.                    start them in a user friendly way,It can execute any
  103.                    program that can be started from the cli,
  104.                    
  105.                    VERIFY,- This searches the directory hierarchy reading all
  106.                    files, Any files that cannot be read are reported on,
  107.                    
  108.                    GEARS,- This calculates and displays the gears of a
  109.                    multispeed cycle,
  110.                    
  111.                    
  112.          Amigos 6/90:
  113.          ***********     ( This one is not arranged in directories like the
  114.          others for some reason! )
  115.          
  116.     GAMES:-        REVERSI V2.0,- Another othello type game,
  117.                    
  118.                    OBSESS,- A realtime puzzle,
  119.                    
  120.     GRAPHICS:-     DRAWMAP V2.0,- A program for drawing representations of
  121.                    the earths surfaces,
  122.                    
  123.     UTILITIES:-    AMIGAFOX V1.0,- ( Strange it should be here again? )
  124.     
  125.                    STARBLANKER,- A screen blanker with a difference, When
  126.                    there is inactivity,the screen blanks to show a moving
  127.                    starfield, moving the mouse refreshes the original screen,
  128.

  130.          Amigos 7/90:

  133.     GAMES:-        TREK,- Rather good, Done in seuck ( not very easy to
  134.                    master )
  135.                    
  136.     GRAPHICS:-     FISHTANK,- This animation has been around for a while,
  137.                    quite good,
  138.                    
  139.     SOUNDS:-       Contains the soundfiles from the trek game for you to use
  140.                    for your own animations etc,Plus more.
  141.                    
  142.     UTILITIES:-    ZEROVIRUS II,- Although superceded by version III, it is
  143.                    still quite good,
  144.                    
  145.                    POINTERS,- This is a small collection of pointers for you
  146.                    to use on your disks plus some pointer utilities,
  147.                    
  148.                    BOOTBOY,- A boot scroller (V1.1) This is particularly good
  149.                    as it displays three static lines of text as well as a
  150.                    scroller!

  153.          Amigos 8/90:

  156.     GAMES:-        FINNEY,- Another seuck job,Good fun but I didn't really
  157.                    understand it,
  158.                    
  159.     GRAPHICS:-     SUPERVIEW,- An iff picture display program,
  160.     
  161.                    BUGEYE,- A short animation, Quite funny,
  162.                    
  163.     SOUND:-        FLINTSTONES,- Soundfile of the theme tune,
  164.     
  165.                    HAL9000,- From the film "2001 a space oddyssey"
  166.                    
  167.                    DIRTY HARRY,- This is not "go on, make my day!" but you
  168.                    will recognise it.
  169.                    
  170.     UTILITIES:-    HANDYICONS,- No, not icons but a program that allows you
  171.                    to run your favourite tools from a custom menu (which
  172.                    makes the title seem a bit strange really!)
  173.                    
  174.                    ANTIGLICKER,- This helps reduce the flicker caused by
  175.                    interlace,
  176.                    
  177.                    SAY,- Nothing new,
  178.

  180.          Amigos 9/90:

  183.     GAMES:-        TRIX,- This was fun,but I didn't find any rules, A sort of
  184.                    suicidal lightcycle game!
  185.                    
  186.                    TILES,- Quite a nice game,Easy to figure out how to play
  187.                    and rather enjoyable.
  188.                    
  189.     MUSIC:-        TEMPTATION,- Nice piece of music, try both mouse buttons
  190.                    to stop it.

  192.     GRAPHICS:-     ICONS,- Nicely detailed, but unfortunately there is only
  193.                    one that has an alternative image,
  194.                    
  195.                    PICTURES,- I think there were two??
  196.                    
  197.                    HACKS,- Three in all including bubbles,
  198.                    
  199.                    G.PRINT,- A graphics printing utility for the Epson FX
  200.                    printers,
  201.                    
  202.                    SUPERVIEW 3,- This was used to display the pictures
  203.                    mentioned earlier,
  204.                    
  205.     UTILITIES:-    ZEROVIRUS III,- Ahh! what was I saying earlier? This will
  206.                    recognise the dreaded file virus aswell as the bootblock
  207.                    variety, Rather good,but possibly surpased by Master Virus 
  208.                    Killer,
  209.                    
  210.                    PKAZIP,- This is possibly similar to newzap,
  211.                    
  212.                    UTILIMASTER,- Directory and file manipulation made easy,
  213.                    similar to sid,
  214.                    
  215.     COMMUNICTIONS:- Includes Pb Convert, BBS TXT, and quite a bit more,
  216.

  218.          Amigos 10/90:

  221.     GAMES:-        WELLTRIX,- Sorry, but I just did not understand this one
  222.                    at all,
  223.                    
  224.     MUSIC:-        WIND,- Quite a title don't you think? Actualy its quite
  225.                    nice piece of music,
  226.                    
  227.     GRAPHICS:-     DYNA SHOW,- Utility for showing ham slides, produced by
  228.                    Digiview gold V4.0.
  229.                    
  230.                    DTP_ART,- This is as you would expect, a lot of clipart of
  231.                    very high quality, even if there is not an awful lot of it,
  232.                    
  233.                    ICONMEISTER,- This is a superb utility for changing the
  234.                    appearance of icons without having to go through the
  235.                    rigmarole of changing the icons into brushes and then
  236.                    loading them into your paint package,doing the biz, saving
  237.                    them out, changing the brushes back to icons,WELL...this
  238.                    one program will do the lot very easily, it contains its
  239.                    own miniature paint program plus bits, The only real draw
  240.                    back is that it does not (as yet) have a magnify function,
  241.                    But what the hell!

  243.     UTILITIES:-    POWERPACKER 2.3b,- The brilliant file cruncher,
  244.     
  245.                    LABEL PRINTER,- Prints disk labels (surprise,surprise!)
  246.                    
  247.                    ALARMING CLOCK,- I hope your nerves are good!

  250.          Amigos 11/90:

  253.     GAMES:-        BOUNCE,- If you have ever played a breakout clone, & lets
  254.                    face it,who hasn't ?,Then you will know exactly what is
  255.                    expected of you with this one,
  256.                    
  257.     MUSIC:-        EKG,- A very nice track,I really liked this one,
  258.     
  259.                    DISKTALK,- This plays a sampled sound every time a disk is
  260.                    inserted or removed,
  261.                    
  262.     UTILITIES:-    TRANSFORMER,- I have a nasty suspicion that this one is
  263.                    actually commercial over here,Its a PC emulator, a bit slow
  264.                    but it does work, except this one doesn't,Its disabled.
  265.                    
  266.                    PROTECTOMAGIC,- This will set or change the flags on files
  267.                    
  268.                    NEWLOOK,- This program changes the look of the workbench
  269.                    environment gadgets,
  270.                    
  271.                    MYMENU,- This will run cli and workbench programs,very
  272.                    good,
  273.                    
  274.                    NDEBT,- This little prog is quite interesting in sofar as
  275.                    it continualy runs a theoretical figure on the workbench
  276.                    screen that shows a large figure that represents the
  277.                    American national debt, a bit of an eye opener!
  278.                    
  279.                    MACH III,- This provides hot keys & more,
  280.                    
  281.                    ANYMONTH,- This is a perpetual calander easily adjusted,
  282.

  284.          Amigos 12/90:  ( A )*
  285.          ************    * THIS IS A TWO DISK SET !!!!!

  287.     GAMES:-        SIMPSONS,- Yet another seuck presentation,Quite interesting
  288.                    there is also some documentation in this directory which
  289.                    will request the powerpacker.libraryV33+, don't worry,more
  290.                    on this later!
  291.                    
  292.     GRAPHICS:-     VERTICAL,- This will scroll text, not that smoothly but it
  293.                    is extremely good, try it out, its certainly makes a cheap
  294.                    and cheerful end credits for that important home movie!
  295.                     
  296.                    PP.ANIM,- This will show animation files compressed with
  297.                    powerpacker,
  298.                    
  299.                    PP.SHOW,- This will show picture files that have been
  300.                    compressed with powerpacker,
  301.                    
  302.         DISK TWO   ( B )*
  303.         
  304.     MUSIC:-        FOREVER,- Another nice score,
  305.     
  306.     UTILITIES:-    LIBS,- This contains the powerpacker library you need to
  307.                    copy to your c directory on your boot disk if you want to
  308.                    read the documents on these two disks, The other way to
  309.                    read them is to use sid, as it recognises documents
  310.                    compressed with powerpacker and selects ppmore
  311.                    automaticaly, ( useless hint No 1 )
  312.                    
  313.                    PP.TYPE,- This will print crunched text files,
  314.                    
  315.                    PP.MORE,- This will let you read crunched text filed by
  316.                    selecting them via a file requestor, so this is another
  317.                    way to read those text files if you dont wish to transfer
  318.                    the library or haven't got sid,
  319.                    
  320.                    DISKOPTI,- Another disk optimising utility to enable disks
  321.                    to load far quicker by optimising the information on the
  322.                    disk,
  323.                    
  324.                    DOSHELPER,- Explains the use of dos commands and gives
  325.                    explainations as to how you should use these commands,
  326.                    basicaly it is the commodore chapter put on to the screen!
